The field of crisis management studies has rapidly expanded in the wake of 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, the financial crisis, COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine. Academics from many disciplines have flocked to the field, while practitioners have become increasingly interested in its findings. At the same time, the field lacks a common set of conceptual and theoretical anchors that can facilitate an interdisciplinary approach to the study of crises and crisis management. This conference aims to showcase the progress made in reference to classic studies that lay at the basis of the field.
