The National Council Digital Infrastructure (LBDI-SSH) is has been operating since 2023 as a substantive advisory council for the SSH-council. The platform brings together experts and representatives from organizations and networks working on digital research infrastructure within the social sciences and humanities (SSH), such as ODISSEI and CLARIAH.

The aim of the LBDI-SSH is to better align existing initiatives and to work jointly towards a coherent national strategy for digital infrastructure that is tailored to the needs of high-quality and future-proof SSH research. In this way, collaboration is strengthened and resources can be deployed more effectively.

In addition, the LBDI-SSH monitors investments in digital infrastructure, including within sector plans for the humanities and social sciences and broader cross-sector programmes. In doing so, the platform contributes to a coherent and sustainable digital ecosystem for research.
